So Forbes decided to publish a list of the best and worst salaries. It’s worth checking out, at least for the chuckles.

It should be noted is that the amounts used to tally the salary numbers in this piece are base pay, nothing more. No bonuses, no stock options, just the mean flat salary. How typical of Forbes. Does anyone really think that there might be some ulterior motive for Forbes to push the impression that all physicians are making out like Willie Sutton? Did you catch it; doctors make so much money they are basically stealing, i.e. like Willy Sutton?

How about a headline that says the compensation for insurance company CEOs has increased 900% in the last 15 years? Sounds more realistic to me. Even better would be the headline, “Insurance companies raping patients and doctors; when will the duplicity end?”
